Here comes the updates!
It’s been a while since the last update, but that doesn’t mean things haven’t been happening. Quite the opposite! This month brings some love to the Favorites page, improvements to the search experience, and a bunch of quality of life updates.
Favorites page gets some ❤️
If you’re like me, you probably have a bunch of items saved in your favorites, waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger. The Favorites page has been a bit… let’s say functional but not exactly inspiring. Well, that changes now!
Distribution Chart
The Favorites page now shows a nice distribution chart, giving you a quick overview of what categories your favorited items belong to. It’s a great way to see at a glance where your interests are concentrated.
Price Range Chart
Ever wondered how your favorite items are distributed across price ranges? Wonder no more! The new Price Range chart breaks down your favorites into price buckets, showing you how many items fall into each range.
This is super handy when you’re trying to figure out if you’re mostly eyeing budget-friendly items or if your taste is a bit more… expensive. (No judgment here! 😅)
The chart also shows the total value of all your favorites, the average price, and the total number of items. It’s like a little dashboard for your wish list!
Search improvements
The AI-powered search feature has been one of the most popular additions to Bettertori, and it just got better.
Better Best Match UI
When you search for something, Bettertori’s AI tries to find the best match for you. The UI for this has been completely redesigned to be more informative and easier to read. The best match now shows the item image, price, location, and the AI’s reasoning for why this item is the best match.
The reasoning is no longer cut off, so you can read the full explanation of why the AI thinks this is the best deal for you. Transparency is key!
Improved layout
The search page layout has been adjusted to be more balanced and visually appealing. The price chart and best match sections now work better together, creating a more cohesive experience.
Profile page refresh
The Profile page got a makeover too! The stats are now displayed in a cleaner, more card-based layout, making it easier to see your activity at a glance.
Command Palette
For the power users out there, Bettertori has had command palettes for a while now (press ⌘+J or Ctrl+J to open the global palette, ⌘+G or Ctrl+G for item actions). There’s now comprehensive documentation available if you want to learn how to use them effectively.

Under the hood
There have been quite a few improvements under the hood as well:
- Token refresh: The authentication system now handles token refresh automatically, so you shouldn’t get logged out unexpectedly anymore.
- Better error handling: Improved error messages and recovery from failed API calls.
- Performance: Various performance improvements across the board.
What’s next?
There’s always something cooking in the Bettertori kitchen. Some things I’m working on for the next releases:
- More data visualization features
- Improved notification system
- Mobile app improvements
