There had been a few weeks of silence, however that doesn’t mean that nothing has been happening. Quite the opposite, actually! Now it’s time to share some updates on Bettertori. Summer is approaching, and so are the new features and improvements.

What’s new?

Let’s take a look at the most notable changes that have been made to Bettertori in the past few weeks.

Calendar

Probably the most important improvement is on the Calendar view. Previously, the Calendar view when opened, fetched all the Tori.fi items which were created within the default time range of the calender, in every watched category.

This was not very meaningful, and did not help to present the data only for a subset of the watched categories.

Now, the Calendar view is more focused on the watched categories, and only shows the items which were created within the selected time range of the calendar, in the watched categories.

The date range selector can be combined with a set of other filters, to help looking through the items in a more meaningful way. For example, you can select a date range, and then filter the items by category, or by the price range.

Query Params in the URL

I realized that most of the users are using Bettertori, especially the Calendar view with having a set of filters applied. This is great, but it was not possible to bookmark it for later use. Therefore, it was required to apply the filters every time you wanted to look at the same set of items.

Now, Bettertori supports query parameters in the URL, which allows you to bookmark the current view. If this is the way you want to use Bettertori, now you can select the required filters, and bookmark the URL, so you can revisit the page and the same filters will be applied automatically.

Housekeeping & Bug Fixes

This pre summer release also includes a bunch of bug fixes, and improvements:

• Fixed the issue related the paginations.
• Better conditions for checking if an item had been potentially sold.
• Improved the cmdk menu.
• Overall performance improvements.
